MIDDLETON PLACE

In contrast with nearby Magnolia, Middleton’s gardens reflect a formal style. An aerial view of the gardens best illustrates the symmetrical layout of the gardens. A photographers dream, Middleton delivers sweeping vistas, water features to reflect angle oaks, buildings and host gators willing pose in the foreground.

I recommend getting an annual membership at least once to take advantage of a garden that changes with the seasons.  The camellia collection is in bloom from November to February, azaleas in the spring are followed bulb flowers.

In addition to the gardens, Middleton offers a house tour, a nice dining experience and exposure to a number of farm animals.  In the Stable Yard coopers, iron smiths, potters and other artisans provide living history demonstrations while sheep graze nearby.

I’ve yet to experience all that Middleton has to offer, with the many events offered at the plantation throughout the year I am glad I live close by.  Middleton PlaceMiddleton Place
